I used Jeff Muntz at Goosetree Law for some post decree matters. Unfortunately post decree can be just as if not more stressful than an initial divorce. My prior attorney had retired and he recommended Jeff, and I'm so glad he did. Jeff was always calm, collected, reasonable, and gave me sound advice. There were many times where the opposing council in my case was irrational, unreasonable, and neglecting basic duties as an attorney, so I appreciated that Jeff was not afraid to fight back and always stood up for my rights. Tricia Goostree is awesome. I've been through 2 other attorneys and they were not nearly as diligent as her. She knows what she's doing. The only mistake was not having her through my entire divorce process. She's helping in the aftermath of a 3 year divorce. I do not think the other attorney's believed what I told them about my ex husband but as time passed, he showed his true colors. Now everything I should have received in the divorce proceedings such as sole custody has finally happened. She's helping change things in the divorce decree that never should have been there. I trust her and her expertise in the law.

I was filing for divorce from my husband of 27 years and I hired Goostree Law Group to represent me. I was assigned to Olivia Voleta. She was a sharp, organized, and understanding person. My experience with her and the supporting staff was great! I always felt like I was being supported. Never having hired an attorney before, Olivia was kind enough to make sure I understood the legal terms, etc.. And she seemed genuinely interested in my financial status as a newly retired worker. Andrew burgess was amazing as my attorney! I could not have had a better person handling my case. My case was a divorce/custody case while i had already moved out of state. On top of that he was hired in the middle of the case after i was with a different attorney firm first. He picked it up and never stopped he was always upfront and clear with me about everything going on, he never made me feel confused about what was happening or what needed to happen. He always covered next steps before they even happened, he always gave best and worse case scenarios, he was ALWAYS on top of everything. Jeff Muntz completely turned my case around - he is the reason my baby boy has equal and frequent access to both me and his mom.As a single father navigating a contentious divorce and fighting for parenting time and overnights, the odds seemed against me. When my previous attorney wasn't able to get a favourable outcome, I contacted Goostree Law Group and retained Jeff in January 2021.Swift and to the point, he isn't afraid to take on an aggressive opposing attorney. Shortly after he took my case, my parenting time was expanded to overnights.Throughout the case, Jeff was extremely knowledgeable and professional. The way he bills time is very fair and convenient whenever I needed to have a short phone call with him. He gives clear updates after every court appearance.Most importantly, Jeff's experience as a GAL and understanding of the legal system proved invaluable. He was able to bring the opposing party to the table and negotiated a settlement favourable for everyone, resulting in 50/50 parenting time before our boy turned one. If you're a father reading this now, then you know that's not an easy feat in Illinois.I should add, he makes for a pretty good therapist, though I don't recommend it from a financial standpoint LOL - it's better and cheaper to keep your inner noise to a minimum and go for a jog instead.No doubt divorces can be expensive. Jeff's hourly rate is higher than some other attorneys, but that's for a good reason. In hindsight, I would've spent a LOT less money overall if I had hired Jeff Muntz from the start.For those in the middle of it, hang in there - it does get easier. My case ended in September 2021, and things have been pretty great since. Maybe you're lucky and you're going through an easy case, or perhaps your case is more like mine, and you feel like there's no way forward. Either way, get Jeff!

Jeff Muntz represented me in a case following my divorce. It seemed to be easy at first, but since the other party kept making things difficult, it took a bigger effort to get me what I deserved. Jeff guided me through the whole process, was always very knowledgeable about my case and kept me informed. He never sent an email without giving me the opportunity to review and approve. When our court case finally went in front of the judge, he argued and won my case. This was very important and emotional to me. I can only say good things about how I was treated and the outcome was fantastic. I have a lot of respect for Jeff Muntz. He is a great and fair lawyer.

Tricia has been invaluable in helping resolve my post-divorce custody issues. She navigated tough situations and got fantastic results. There are a lot of good lawyers around, but not a lot of great ones, and she is one. I highly recommend calling her. My daughter and I are thriving in a new phase of life, and Tricia helped make that happen.

Love this law firm! Alyssa Smith was my attorney for my very stressful divorce 😅 she definitely made it as easy on me as possible, always answered my phone calls, emails and silly questions as quickly as possible. Called me within an hour or so after we had court to fill me in on what was next. From what I've heard and witnessed from friends, not all attorneys are like that. She really took the time to make me feel more like a friend than a client. Very patient, and handled every situation promptly. She never made me feel stupid even if my question was ridiculous. Oh my goodness. I cannot recommend Andrew Burgess enough! I started my divorce and custody process in May 2020 and hired Andrew around August/September 2020, he initially was working for a different firm, but when I found out he was leaving them I had no choice but to follow him. It was absolutely worth it. He was extremely knowledgable and helpful throughout the entire process. Insanely reliable. Incredibly responsive. I never waited more than a day to hear back from him with any questions I had. He always had a way of making me feel at ease through the entire process. He always gave me ALL my options and we would discuss what was best. He did everything he said that he would and gave the BEST advice. I would hire him over and over again for any of my needs that are within his repertoire. Even though I know he was working other cases I always felt like I was a priority and I assume he made all others feel the same way as well. He's very personable so it is easy to speak to him without feeling nervous. But he is also extremely professional especially where it is needed. He represented me with the utmost respect. We closed my case in June 2021, which was initially longer than we anticipated but I wouldn't have wanted to have this journey with anyone else as my counsel. Really cared about what I was going thru, listened, and understood. Helped explain expectations... including how Illinois is now considered a father's right state and why child support from him is not as high as what was anticipated. I make more... but was still able to get child support assistance from him having majority custody.

So, no one wants to get a divorce, let alone talk to a divorce attorney. Things are different with the Goostree Law Group- from Amanda to Paulette and the attorneys. You will want to talk to them about representation and they will like to work with you. Anthony Guidice is my attorney. He is an excellent attorney, advocate and negotiator. He listens, gives great advice and direction, is smart and compassionate. He works to understand his client and opponent, which makes for efficient and thoughtful advocacy. His fees are reasonable and he works within time constraints and budget. He truly has his clients' and their families' best interests in mind. He should be your lawyer.

Divorce is an awful experience. It's emotional - even if it's cordial. Because divorce is emotional, getting the right attorney is beyond critical! Not just to protect your rights but also to make sure that the process progresses expeditiously as it is draining. Tricia Goostree exceeded every single expectation I had. She is very very smart. She knows her craft and understands complicated financial matters (this is critical and rare to find). She is to the point. She is fast and responsive. On top of all of this she is also a very nice person. I deal with a lot of attorneys in my profession and she is one of the better ones. If you are an executive or entrepreneur I recommend her highly! If your not, I would still make sure you retain her before your soon to be ex spouse does. I would hate to have her against me. After researching several firms to help me through my divorce I settled on Shaw, Jacobs and Associates. My main attorney was Tricia Goostree. Everyone at the firm was respectful, knowledgeable about the law, and provided me with sound guidance along the way. My case was long because it involved a disagreement on child custody and included psychological evaluations, a trial in the judges courtroom and even an appeal process. Tricia prepared me for each appearance and made sure I was comfortable with how we were proceeding. In the end I was awarded residential custody of my children, which was our desired outcome.
